My Taiwanese grandfather, a medical doctor, warned me not to pursue Psychology.

“You will become a fortune teller in the basement of the temple,” he said. I was fine with those fortune tellers.

He said it in such disdain that following my family’s path seemed like the only way to avoid being disowned.

So, I chose the most acceptable degree for an Asian family: Business Economics.
